Ambitious: the tendency to set high goals and strive for advancement. A factor from the Big Fifty personality questionnaire that, again, is not necessarily good or bad. The factor follows a normal distribution. This means that the average on the Dutch norm is 5.5, and that there are just as many people scoring to the left of the average as there are to the right. There are people who are more ambitious than average and those who are less ambitious than average. It’s not a matter of right or wrong, which is why we refer to being to the left or right of the mean.
