Carries out planned and unplanned maintenance on machinery and installations at a fixed site, following maintenance schedules and safety rules.
The maintenance mechanic keeps machinery and installations at a fixed site fault-free through planned maintenance and quick repair. Unlike a field service technician, this role works at one location and therefore knows the installations in detail. Selection often tests hands-on mechanical skill, while the ability to follow a maintenance schedule without stopping production is rarely tested.
