Analytics Translator
Also known as: Data Translator · Analytics Business Partner
Connects business questions with analytics capacity, decides which issues are worth analysing and makes sure outcomes land in decisions.
The analytics translator sits between executives or department management and the data domain and turns a business problem into a researchable question with an expected return. Unlike the data analyst, this role does not run the analysis, and unlike the BI consultant it works structurally inside the same organisation. Selection gets stuck on demanding deep technical knowledge, while the core is being able to contradict a sponsor about feasibility and to stop an analysis that will not change any decision.
