Business Intelligence Specialist
Also known as: BI Developer · BI Analyst · Business Intelligence Engineer
Unlocks source systems in data models and builds dashboards and reports with which departments can track their performance structurally.
The business intelligence specialist builds the standing reporting layer of an organisation and guards that metric definitions mean the same thing everywhere. Unlike the data analyst, this role delivers no one off analysis but a reusable model that must hold up every day. Selection focuses on one dashboard package, while the problem lies elsewhere: without a strict conversation about definitions and ownership of figures, several truths emerge and the dashboard loses its authority within half a year.
