Excavator Operator

Also known as: Heavy equipment operator · Digger driver

Operates excavators and other earthmoving equipment to move soil, dig trenches and prepare sites for construction.

The excavator operator works independently on the machine, often near other construction workers and traffic. The distinction from a groundworker lies in the certification and the skill to deliver precision work with heavy machinery. Selection often fails on a missing valid operator certificate, causing an otherwise suitable candidate to drop out later.
