Financial Analyst

Also known as: Finance Analyst · FP and A Analyst

Analyses financial and operational data, builds models and forecasts and delivers substantiated insight for investment, pricing and cost decisions.

The financial analyst is the most quantitative role in finance and works on models, forecasts and scenarios. Unlike the controller, this role has no reporting cycle or budget responsibility of its own but delivers analysis on request. Selection stalls on model building as the main criterion, while the value in practice lies in challenging the assumptions behind a model and explaining the outcome concisely to decision makers who do not follow the technique.
