Financial Project Controller

Monitors the financial progress of projects, prepares project reports and flags variances between budget and actuals to project leaders and management.
The financial project controller closely tracks the finances of running projects and warns when margin comes under pressure from extra work or delay. Unlike a business controller with a department wide view, they work per project, each with its own budget, planning and delivery date. Selection often looks at reporting skill, while raising the alarm in time with a project leader who would rather sit on a setback for now is the core of the role in practice.
