Identity and Access Manager

Manages user identities and access rights to systems, sets up authorisation structures and periodically checks whether rights still match employees' roles.
The identity and access manager ensures employees have exactly the access that matches their role, no more and no less, and that rights are revoked upon leaving. Unlike a systems administrator who manages systems broadly, this is a specialised role focused on who may access what. Selection often looks at technical knowledge of IAM tools, while tracing outdated rights that were never revoked after a role change removes the biggest security risk in practice.
