Instrumentation and Control Technician

Maintains, calibrates and repairs instrumentation and control equipment that monitors and steers process parameters within an installation.

The instrumentation and control technician ensures sensors and control loops measure reliably and steer correctly. Unlike an electrical technician, the emphasis is not on power supply but on the precision of measurement and control. Selection often tests knowledge of measuring equipment, while the ability to trace a deviating reading back to the right sensor or control loop in a complex system is rarely tested.
