Technical Work Planner

Plans and organises technical projects before execution starts, and coordinates materials, people and equipment.

The technical work planner ensures a technical project can start smoothly by arranging materials, planning and capacity in advance. Unlike an estimator, who calculates costs, this role focuses on feasibility and planning itself. Selection often tests planning skill, while the ability to align materials, people and equipment simultaneously without delay is rarely tested.
