Data Consultant

Advises clients on data strategy and analytics setup, translates business questions into a data plan and guides implementation at the client organisation.
The data consultant works for varying clients and links an ambition in data to a feasible roadmap of governance, tooling and capacity. Unlike a BI consultant, the scope is broader than reporting alone and also covers data strategy and organisational setup. Selection often focuses on technical tool knowledge, while tempering an overly ambitious data plan from a client who wants everything at once determines in practice whether an engagement succeeds.
