Designs and optimises logistics processes and warehouse layout, calculating capacity and throughput times for new setups.
The logistics engineer works on projects to design or renew logistics processes, often apart from daily operations. The distinction from a logistics planner lies in the design and calculation nature of the work rather than daily execution. Selection often fails on candidates who build models well but do not adequately test the assumptions against practice on the floor.
