Maintenance Engineer

Develops and improves installations' maintenance strategy based on failure data, and advises on lifespan and reliability.

The maintenance engineer analyses why installations fail and builds a substantiated maintenance strategy from that. Unlike the maintenance planner, who plans execution, this role focuses on the strategy and its underlying rationale. Selection often tests technical depth, while the ability to substantiate a maintenance strategy with failure data rather than gut feeling is rarely tested.
