Kitchen Assistant
Also known as: Kitchen Assistant · Kitchen Helper
Supports the cooks in preparing ingredients, keeps the kitchen clean and organised and works according to hygiene rules.
The kitchen assistant cuts, weighs and prepares ingredients so cooks can keep working through service and keeps workstations clean in between. Unlike a cook, they do not prepare complete dishes and make no decisions on taste or presentation. Selection in practice fails on candidates who follow instructions well but lose pace once several cooks assign tasks at once.
