Logistics Manager

Also known as: Head of logistics · Supply chain manager

Sets the organisation's logistics strategy, leads several sites or teams and is accountable for cost and service level.

The logistics manager steers at the level of the whole chain and works closely with commerce, purchasing and finance. The distinction from a distribution centre manager lies in the broader, strategic scope across multiple sites or the whole chain rather than one site. Selection often fails on candidates with a strong operational background who lack enough experience convincing other executives of logistics investments.
