Truck Driver
Also known as: HGV driver · Lorry driver
Transports goods by road to customers and distribution points, plans the own route and handles loading, unloading and documentation.
The truck driver works independently on the road and is the face of the company to the customer. The distinction from a van driver lies in the licence, the cargo volume and statutory driving and rest times. Selection often fails on a missing valid driver qualification card, which is only checked at the point of hire.
