Technical Lead
Also known as: Tech Lead · Engineering Team Lead · Delivery Lead Engineering
Steers the technical execution of a team or project, connects technology with planning and stakeholders and keeps delivery on track.
The technical lead is the point of contact for the progress and technical feasibility of what a team promises. Unlike the lead developer, a large share of time goes to alignment, dependencies and risks outside the team, and unlike the scrum master this role decides on content as well. Selection looks at technical seniority, while the role fails on something else: bringing bad news to a client early and with evidence while shielding the team from shifting priorities.
