Managing Partner
Also known as: Senior Partner · Firm Managing Partner
Leads a law, accountancy or advisory firm as managing partner, directs the other partners and is responsible for strategy, profit sharing and firm organisation.
The managing partner combines their own client work with the governing leadership of a partnership, where colleagues are co-owners and cannot simply be directed as employees. Unlike a managing director of a limited company, decisions often need to be carried by the partners' meeting itself. Selection usually looks at the strongest personal client base, while convincing equal partners on profit sharing and investment is the hardest part in practice.
