Student Counselor

Supports pupils individually on study progress, motivation and personal circumstances, alongside the subject teacher's role.
The student counselor follows a pupil on several fronts at once and signals when study progress or wellbeing comes under pressure. Unlike the subject teacher, who assesses one subject, this role looks beyond a single school subject. Selection often tests listening skill, while the ability to refer to heavier help in time without breaking the relationship of trust is rarely tested.
