Technical Subject Teacher

Teaches technology lessons in a workshop classroom with machines and tools, and teaches pupils technical understanding and safe working practice.
The technical subject teacher combines theory lessons with practical assignments in an in-school workshop. Unlike a general subject teacher, this role also carries responsibility for the safe use of machines and tools. Selection often tests technical subject knowledge, while the ability to run a workshop classroom with machines and tools safely and in an orderly way is rarely tested.
