Communications Officer
Also known as: Communications Assistant · Junior Communications Officer
Produces day to day communication materials such as newsletters, intranet, website and social posts, and supports advisers on larger communication projects.
The communications officer is an execution role working under a communications adviser or marketing manager on copy, materials and scheduling. Unlike the adviser, this role develops and publishes messages rather than setting the line. Selection often leans on enthusiasm and social media, while the work demands error free copy, version control and chasing information from colleagues who do not respond.
