Electrical Technician

Also known as: Electrician · Electrical Fitter

Installs, maintains and repairs electrical installations and wiring, working according to safety standards for live electrical work.

The electrical technician installs and maintains electrical installations, from wiring to switchboards. Unlike a general technician, the emphasis lies entirely on electrical work rather than mechanical maintenance. Selection often looks at vocational qualifications, while the ability to work safely under live conditions according to safety standards is often not tested separately in practice.
