Head of Customer Service

Also known as: Customer Service Manager · Head of Customer Support

Leads the customer service department, monitors availability and resolution times and translates recurring complaints into process and product improvements.

The head of customer service directs a team of customer contact staff and is responsible for service levels, wait times and customer satisfaction. Unlike a supervisor, this role also works on the structural causes behind complaints, in consultation with product and operations. Selection often looks at customer contact experience, while pushing a structural process fault through to other departments that do not see it as their problem makes or breaks the role in practice.
