Production Operative

Also known as: Assembly Worker · Factory Operative

Performs simple, repeatable production or assembly tasks on a line or workstation, following a fixed work instruction.

The production operative performs short-cycle tasks within a fixed work instruction, often on a production line. Unlike a machine operator, manual work is central here rather than operating equipment. Selection often looks at physical suitability, while the ability to flag quality deviations during the work itself, rather than only at final inspection, is rarely tested.
