Functional Application Manager

Manages the use and configuration of applications for the user organisation, guides changes and safeguards the fit with work processes.
The functional application manager represents the user organisation in managing an application and decides on configuration, permissions and change requests. Unlike the technical manager, this role looks at the process and its use rather than at the infrastructure beneath. Selection focuses on knowledge of the specific package, while the role depends on taking a position between vendor and users: passing on every wish to the vendor loses control of cost, while refusing everything loses the department's trust.
