IT Procurement Specialist

Purchases it hardware, software and services, negotiates price and terms with suppliers and monitors licences and contracts within the it budget.
The it procurement specialist translates the it organisation's demand into contracts with suppliers and ensures licences, maintenance and support match what is actually used. Unlike a regular buyer, they need knowledge of it specific contract forms such as licensing models and cloud subscriptions that change quickly. Selection often looks at negotiation skill, while tracing licences that are no longer used but still paid for yields the biggest savings potential in practice.
