Machine Operator

Also known as: Line Operator · Equipment Operator

Operates one or more production machines following fixed instructions, monitors the process and intervenes on minor deviations.

The machine operator runs a machine within fixed parameters, following documented procedures. Unlike a process operator, who oversees a whole process, this role focuses on one machine or production line. Selection often tests experience with a specific machine, while the ability to stay alert during monotonous repetitive work over a whole shift is rarely tested.
