Technical Draughtsman

Also known as: CAD Drafter · Detail Draughtsman

Produces and details technical drawings based on an existing design, following drawing standards and revision agreements.

The technical draughtsman works out an existing design into a fully detailed drawing that can be used on the shop floor. Unlike a design draughtsman, who designs independently, the emphasis here lies on accurate detailing within given parameters. Selection often tests software experience, while the ability to detail an existing drawing flawlessly according to applicable standards is rarely tested.
